History of Hindustan Times:

The Hindustan Times newspaper was founded in 1924 by Sunder Singh Lyallpuri, previously who was the founder-father of the Akali movement and the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab Province. After this,  S Mangal Singh Gill (Tehsildar) and S. Chanchal Singh (Jandiala, Jalandhar) were appointed as in charge of the newspaper. Madan Mohan Malaviya and Tara Singh were among the members of the newspaper’s Managing Committee. The Managing Chairmanwas Master Sunder Singh Lyallpuri.

At the time when financial troubles started, the Akalis approached two interested buyers from the nationalist movement. They were Motilal Nehru and Madan Mohan Malaviya, and ultimately Malviya bought the Hindustan Times. At this time, Malviya had to take out a loan with the help of Lala Lajpat Rai in order to finance the paper. In the year of 1928, Gandhi Ji chose a new editor, K.M Panikkar for the paper. By that time, the Hindustan Times was running into financial troubles again and G. D. Birla underwrote some expenses and ultimately assumed ownership. Devdas Gandhi who was the son of Mahatma Gandhi was inducted into the editors’ panel and appointed editor

In Jaipur, the print location was stopped from June 2006, and also  Nagpur edition was stopped from September 1997. Initially, Hindusthan Times launched a youth daily. On 14 July 2005, the Mumbai edition was launched and the Kolkata edition was launched in the year 2000. Inthe the year 2014, Hindustan Times Newspaper was ranked 360th among India’s most trusted brands.  There are many publications of the Hindustan Times that are as follows: Mint, which is an English business daily; Hindustan, a Hindi Daily;  Nandan, a monthly children’s magazine and Kadambani, a monthly literary magazine. It also has a Children’s version like other newspapers.
